Here’s a friendly reminder:
-You cannot be sexist toward men. Sexism is based on a system of oppression. You CAN be discriminatory, rude, inconsiderate, and/or prejudiced against men but you CANNOT be sexist toward them.
-You cannot be racist towards white people. Racism is based on a system of oppression. You CAN be discriminatory, rude, inconsiderate, and/or prejudiced against white people but you CANNOT be racist toward them.
This is not difficult.
I call bullshit. It’s not impossible to be sexist toward men and racist toward white people. This person just hates racism and sexism so much that s/he wants the definition to exclude the most common perpetrators as potential victims, and wants to insult anyone who doesn’t agree (“This is not difficult”).
Racism against non-whites and sexism against non-males is a CONSIDERABLY larger problem than it is against whites and males. But it doesn’t help the problem to tell whites and males that they can’t possibly be victims of it too, especially in such a condescending, prejudiced way.
